How long does the process of moving into supported accommodation usually take?
For many participants, the entire process from funding confirmation to move-in takes between three and twelve months, depending on the availability of suitable vacancies, the complexity of the funding approval process, and how quickly documentation can be gathered and assessed.
Can I move out if I am not happy with the arrangement?
Yes. Your service agreement will specify the notice period required to exit the arrangement, which is typically between two and four weeks. You have the right to leave an arrangement that is not meeting your needs, though it is advisable to have an alternative in place before giving notice where possible.
Do I need both SIL and SDA funding?
Not necessarily. SIL funding covers the cost of supports delivered in your home, while SDA funding covers the cost of the specialised dwelling itself.
