Frequently asked questions
What is the difference between the myplace and my NDIS provider portals?
myplace is the legacy NDIA provider portal built on the old CRM, where you claim against service bookings. The my NDIS provider portal runs on the newer PACE system, where a participant records you as one of their providers instead of a service booking being made. Which one you use depends on whether a given participant's plan has moved to PACE; during transition most coordinators use both.
Do I need to be a registered NDIS provider to use the provider portal?
It depends on the type of coordination. Mandatory registration for standard support coordination (group 0106) was paused in December 2025 with no restart date, so standard coordinators are not being forced to register now. Specialist support coordination (group 0132) still requires registration. Confirm the current position at ndiscommission.gov.au, as this is moving with the reform program.
How do I set up access to the NDIS provider portal?
Create an individual PRODA account and verify your identity, register your organisation in PRODA using your ABN, add yourself as a member, then link the organisation to the NDIS via the portal. The most common blocker for sole traders is a mismatch between PRODA and the associate details held by the Australian Business Register, so check your ABR record first.
How long do I have to submit a claim through the portal?
Until 1 December 2026 the claim window is up to two years from the date of service. From 1 December 2026 it shortens to 90 days. Anything not claimed within 90 days of service is lost, so move to frequent claiming and reconcile against your time records. Verify the date against ndis.gov.au before relying on it.
Why can't I see a participant's plan or budget in the portal?
On PACE, you only see a participant once they have recorded you against the relevant budget as one of their providers. If you are missing, the endorsement has usually not been made yet — ask the participant or their planner to add you, rather than assuming your claim details are wrong. Your view is also scoped to your involvement, so you will not see self-managed or plan-managed portions.
