How do I request an NDIS plan reassessment for housing?
Ask the NDIA to reassess your plan through a change of circumstances request, backed by current evidence that your situation and support needs have changed. State the housing support you're seeking, why it's now reasonable and necessary, and link it to your goals. A support coordinator can help prepare and submit it.
Can I ask for more housing support before my plan ends?
Yes. You don't have to wait for your scheduled reassessment. A genuine change of circumstances — declining health, a breakdown in your living situation, a carer who can no longer support you, or readiness to move out — can trigger an earlier reassessment.
What counts as a change of circumstances for housing?
A real, evidenced change in your support needs or living situation — for example new or worsening health needs, loss of a carer, an unsafe current home, or being ready to leave the family home. Wanting more funding without a change isn't enough on its own.
What evidence do I need for a housing reassessment?
Recent evidence showing the change: an updated OT functional assessment, new specialist or GP letters, and the support-specific evidence — a Roster of Care for SIL, an SDA housing assessment, or an ILO exploration report. The documents should tell a consistent story.
