What are the biggest NDIS reforms in 2026?
The main ones are mandatory provider registration starting 1 July 2026, the rollout of foundational supports and Thriving Kids from October 2026, and the 2026-27 pricing arrangements from 1 July 2026. These build on the new supports lists and law changes already in effect.
Will the NDIS reforms cut my current supports?
Not automatically. Most changes apply at your next plan reassessment or come with a transition period, and existing plans keep running until then. If a change affects your funding, your planner should explain it, and you can bring a support coordinator or free advocate to that conversation.
What are foundational supports?
Foundational supports are a new tier of help, jointly funded by the Commonwealth and states, that sits between mainstream services and full NDIS plans. They include general supports for anyone with disability and targeted supports for specific groups, with a children's program (Thriving Kids)…
