What is the Continence Aids Payment Scheme?
CAPS is a Services Australia payment that helps with the cost of continence products for people with permanent and severe incontinence linked to an eligible condition. It is paid to your bank account to spend on products from any supplier, subject to eligibility.
Where can I get continence advice?
Start with your GP, or call the free National Continence Helpline on 1800 33 00 66 for confidential advice from continence nurse advisors. Continence nurses and physiotherapists can assess the problem and provide a management plan.
Can aged care funding help with continence?
Yes. Through Support at Home, continence assessment and nursing or allied health input are available, and clinical care is fully government-funded. Aids and bathroom modifications may also be supported to make continence easier to manage at home.
