Does being on the NDIS mean I qualify for SDA?
No. NDIS eligibility and SDA eligibility are separate. SDA is funded only for participants with extreme functional impairment or very high support needs, assessed against the SDA Rules using specialist evidence. Most participants are not eligible for SDA.
What if my SDA request is refused?
A refusal is not final. You can ask the NDIA for an internal review, and if needed apply to the Administrative Review Tribunal. Free help is available through the NDIS Appeals Program. Strengthening your OT and housing evidence often makes the difference on review.
