Frequently asked questions

How often do NDIS therapy prices change?

Once a year. The NDIA runs an Annual Pricing Review and publishes updated Pricing Arrangements and Price Limits, with the new figures usually taking effect on 1 July. The 2026-27 limits started on 1 July 2026.

Did therapy prices go up or down in 2026?

Both, depending on the discipline. The 2026-27 review raised the limit for some therapies and lowered it for others, rather than applying one uniform change. Always confirm the current limit for your specific therapy in the latest published Pricing Arrangements.

How is therapy travel charged?

Providers can generally claim only 50% of the relevant hourly limit for time spent travelling to you, with extra caps in some regional areas. Travel comes out of the same therapy funding as your session, so a long trip can use up part of your budget.

How can I make my therapy funding last?

Ask for a clear quote covering session, travel and report time; use telehealth where suitable; choose a local therapist to cut travel; and check invoices against the sessions you had. If your needs have genuinely grown, raise it at your next plan reassessment with evidence.
