What are the three ways NDIS claiming works?
Self-managed, where you pay providers and claim reimbursement from the NDIA yourself; plan-managed, where a registered plan manager pays providers and claims on your behalf; and agency-managed, where registered providers claim directly from the NDIA. You can have a mix of all three in one plan.
What's the difference between plan-managed and self-managed claiming?
When self-managed, you pay providers directly and claim the money back yourself, keeping full records. When plan-managed, a registered plan manager pays your providers and claims from the NDIA for you. Both let you use unregistered providers, but plan management removes the paperwork.
Do agency-managed providers have to be registered?
Yes. Agency-managed supports must be delivered by NDIS-registered providers who claim directly from the NDIA, and under PACE they usually need to be in your provider network first. Self-managed and plan-managed arrangements let you use unregistered providers as well.
How long does an NDIS claim take to pay?
