When will CHSP move to Support at Home?
The CHSP transition to Support at Home will happen no earlier than 1 July 2027. Home Care Packages moved across in November 2025, but CHSP was deliberately delayed to give the sector and participants more time.
Do CHSP services change now?
No. If your parent is on CHSP, their services continue as normal until the transition, and there is no action you must take today because of it. The move is still some way off.
Will my parent need a new assessment?
Not simply because of the transition. A new assessment is only needed if their care needs grow beyond what CHSP provides, in which case you can request a Support at Home assessment through My Aged Care now.
Has anything changed for CHSP already?
Mostly behind the scenes. Under the new Aged Care Act, CHSP providers came under the same regulatory approach as other programs from late 2025, bringing stronger obligations and clearer rights rather than changes to services.
