Can I still get a Home Care Package Level 1?
No. Home Care Packages were replaced by Support at Home on 1 November 2025, so new Level 1 packages are not issued. The nearest equivalent today is Support at Home Classification 1, reached through a My Aged Care assessment.
What did Home Care Package Level 1 cover?
Level 1 funded basic support for people who were largely independent, such as cleaning, laundry, transport to appointments, meal preparation and occasional personal care. It typically covered a few hours of help a week rather than daily care.
What replaced the four package levels?
Support at Home uses eight funding classifications instead of the old four levels, so funding is matched more precisely to need. Ongoing funding is released as quarterly budgets, and up to 10% covers care management.
I had a Level 1 package before the change. What now?
You were transitioned into Support at Home, and a no worse off principle means you should not be financially worse off than under your old package. Your provider can explain your new classification, quarterly budget and any contribution.
