Does the NDIS fund support coordination in hours or dollars?
In dollars. The plan holds a dollar amount in the Capacity Building — Support Coordination budget and you bill against it at an hourly price limit. Hours are what you calculate, not what the plan states.
Which price limit should I use in the calculation?
The one matching the level the plan funds you at — Level 1 (support connection), Level 2 (standard coordination) or Level 3 (specialist). Use the indicative figures here as a guide but confirm the exact current limit, including any remote loading, against the current NDIS Pricing Arrangements and Price Limits.
Why does my even monthly pace never seem to work in practice?
Because set-up is front-loaded. Establishing services, referrals and the initial plan often consumes a large share of hours in the first month, so later months must run leaner. Use the front-loading section of the worksheet rather than a flat monthly figure.
Can I bill my admin, supervision or travel time to a participant's plan?
General admin, supervision and marketing are your business costs and are not billable to the plan. Participant-specific work — contact, case notes, provider liaison, their reports — generally is. Travel and non-face-to-face supports are billable only within specific rules and caps, so check the current guide each time.
Is the hourly price limit the same as a coordinator's wage?
No. The price limit is a billing ceiling for what you charge a plan. A wage for an employed coordinator is set under an award such as SCHADS and sits well below the limit once non-billable time and on-costs are accounted for.
